3 Ways to Find Success in Weight Loss

Eat less, exercise more, and you’ll lose weight, right?  That’s what we’re told, and they try to make it sound so easy.  Obviously, these people aren’t talking about going from 2 BK Whoppers to just one.  The change includes more than just that, but no one ever really tells you how to get there.  Below are 3 ways, or rules, that I try to stick to in order to stay happy and healthy:

  • Milk DOES do the body good… So does yogurt, and cheese.  A University of Tennessee Study found that 1200 mg of calcium from dairy helps people lose an average of 24 pounds (in the study, at least.)
  • Turn off the tube…  I know that one of my biggest problems about keeping my weight off was that whenever I was watching TV, the commercials I saw made me sooo hungry.  Why wouldn’t I just pause my TV, and go over to McDonalds for a $1 Double Cheeseburger or two?  Stay away from the brain numbing tube, and you can get your mind off of food.
  • Grab a handful of almonds… I think that almonds and skim milk are the secret to weight loss.  A handful of almonds for a snack, or around 70 throughout the day should fill you up with protein, good fat, and fiber.  I keep the natural or dry roasted on hand, but the Smokehouse by Blue Diamond are my favorite.
